Killing Me Softly.

What an absolutely awful situation to be in; I feel so very sorry for Frances Inglis.
It is so easy to sit back and say what is right or wrong. But the truth of it is that no-one can judge someone’s choice in this matter. How would it feel to see your son left brain-damaged after a tragic accident? Most people who have heard about this case will, thankfully, never experience the same thing. To say that Mrs. Inglis must have gone through a roller coaster ride of emotions would be a gross understatement. It is something that is totally unimaginable for most of us.
And, once again, it all raises questions concerning euthanasia. Should we be allowed to kill out of love?
If we were talking about animals then it would all be so much easier. Beloved pets are put down all the time because they are suffering. But that same philosophy cannot be applied when it comes to human beings. Animals cannot speak or create or fall in love. It all becomes far more complicated when you are talking about people.
Do we have any right to end someone else’s life; even if it is done for all the best reasons? I suppose this would depend upon what (if any) religious beliefs you have. But it is still very much a grey area amongst people with a belief in God. Some would say that only our Maker has the right to end a life, whilst others would apply parts of their faith as a way advocating euthanasia.
Mercy killing is something that can be viewed in a hundred different ways. For some it is out and out wrong, for others it is acceptable and many more are not sure of what stance to take.
If euthanasia ever did become legal in Britain then it would only be a matter of time before a terrible and inevitable error occurred. If it is possible for a woman to have the wrong breast removed during a mastectomy then similar mistakes would be made in mercy killings. Sooner or later the wrong person would be put to sleep because human beings would be making the big decision about whose life to end.
And to err is human.
Not that I want to disrupt the thoughts of this piece but I did want to tell you all about this CD packaging company that I have recently found, look at thier site and see what you think! I am considering using them for the bands new album.
