Justice, where have you gone?

Justice, where have you gone?

What is wrong with this country right now? I’m talking about England of course. Well there is plenty wrong, but, in particular there is an issue with our justice system, and the punishments we give to criminals. We are far too soft on these wastes of space, especially those that commit the most despicable of crimes.

Now I know politicians don’t do anything for the people, if they did the country wouldn’t be in the mess it is now. But that doesn’t mean we can’t try to change that. With enough voice, anything can be achieved. I don’t want to start a revolution but I’m going to mention a few things that I’m sure we are all concerned about.

What is going on with our justice system? Violent crimes, robbery and fraud are all becoming much more prevalent and the simple reason is because people know they can get away with it. Sure they get caught from time to time but they rarely get a large sentence, and even if they do, they can get early release by behaving themselves in prison. They should be behaving themselves in prison as a given! They shouldn’t get extra benefits for behaving like a normal human being.

I would propose much harsher penalties for many crimes, but one in particular stands out. Violent crime, and that is anything from a punch in the street to a full out assault or knife attack, should be a minimum of five years in prison. No matter the circumstances, if one instigates and carries out an assault, they should be locked up with no chance of bail or early release. Just think how many bar brawls and petty fights would stop because of the harshness of the penalty.

Some people would say there is no room in prison for all the violent crimes. That may be the case, but only because we are locking up people for pirating DVDs or not paying their television tax. Sure these people should be punished, but lets not send them to prison. They do not cause direct physical harm to the public and will never be as dangerous as those who do.

The safety of the general public should be of utmost concern to the government, but this does not seem to be the case. However, if this penalty is to stand, we must start breaking down the ridiculous “human rights” argument that the socialists and lawyers have come up with to make some extra money. I believe some prisoners, those who kill or assault, have forgone their “human” rights by committing inhumane acts.

I’m sure this country will always be the same, because we have allowed it to get to a point of no return it seems. However, that should not stop us from voicing our complaints.

One last thing, I was chatting to my brother who works in the city and he believes that there is massive return in buying stocks for a certain bio diesel supplier. I am so tired of this tyrad on everyone who works in the stock market, and the fact that everyone seems to have something against oil. I mean they all heat thier houses with it, I just wish that people would stop complaining.
