Injustice In Africa
For the last few years the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan have been widely covered, reported on and disputed all over the world. There are supporters for the war, mainly politicians and the like, and those against the war, those considered the general public.
We believed that going into Afghanistan was just because we were hunting a terrorist who blew up the twin towers in New York city. However, how many thousands of innocents have died because of this? A war was not needed, not in the slightest. It has caused the deaths of many soldiers and therefore further pain to many families around the world.
We don’t seem to have come much closer to capturing Osama Bin Laden or bringing an end to the terrorist groups we sought to destroy. How can one do such a thing in this day and age?
Next, we went to Iraq, to punish Saddam Hussain for harbouring weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). After a lengthy war, in which the genocidal leader, Hussain himself, was caught (and later executed) we found no evidence of any WMDs. There are conspiracies that the war was started to capture the rich oil fields of Iraq and the WMD story was fabricated to make the war justifiable.
How many thousands of innocent Iraqi people were killed in that war? How many soldiers went to their deaths to fill the pockets of those people who are already too rich? It is disgraceful that we let our leaders get away with such things.
The only silver lining concerning the Iraq war was the fact that Saddam was punished and taken from his position of power. He was a criminal and a murderer of genocidal proportions and deserved everything he got. The country of Iraq, however, did not deserve what happened to it.
If we are starting wars these days to bring murderers and criminals to justice then why have we not gone into Africa? There are so many countries that need our help and need a change leadership that will only come through violence. Many thousands of Africans, have been victims of their war mongering leaders who steal and murder to keep themselves in power and make money.
Zimbabwe and the cruelty of Mugabe is the best example here. That man has been, like Saddam, murdering on a genocidal scale and kills or banishes anyone who would oppose him militarily, socially or politically. If there was a country that is crying out for help, and has been for a long time, then it must be Zimbabwe. So, if justice is the reason for war, and helping those in need, then why haven’t we gone to Zimbabwe yet? I suppose it is because their oil supply is a little low…
Speaking of which, I have just updated the text on the website for red diesel suppliers, I know that it must surprise you that I am doing some work for an oil company; but I don’t think they are as environmentally unfriendly as I once surmised and they are making an effort to become more socially responsible. Plus, I’ve sold out, I need the cash!
