Injustice In Africa

For the last few years the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan have been widely covered, reported on and disputed all over the world. There are supporters for the war, mainly politicians and the like, and those against the war, those considered the general public.

We believed that going into Afghanistan was just because we were hunting a terrorist who blew up the twin towers in New York city. However, how many thousands of innocents have died because of this? (more…)

Justice, where have you gone?

What is wrong with this country right now? I’m talking about England of course. Well there is plenty wrong, but, in particular there is an issue with our justice system, and the punishments we give to criminals. We are far too soft on these wastes of space, especially those that commit the most despicable of crimes.

Racial inequality Running Wild In The UK

An independent race relations body has pointed out that racial inequality in Britain remains an issue despite the progress being made. It also says that extremism and segregation are on the rise.

The last report by the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) before it was disbanded urges our political leaders to have integration as a priority for the country.

A Veiled Attack On Freedom!

The political wrangling over the right of Muslim women to wear face veils in France could have far reaching consequences in the United Kingdom and beyond. It is my opinion that if people are not vociferous in their condemnation of the direction that the French government is taking then civil rights as a whole will suffer.

What an absolutely awful situation to be in; I feel so very sorry for Frances Inglis.

It is so easy to sit back and say what is right or wrong. But the truth of it is that no-one can judge someone’s choice in this matter. How would it feel to see your son left brain-damaged after a tragic accident? Most people who have heard about this case will, thankfully, never experience the same thing. DNA Database Solving Less Than 1% of Crimes

Over the years there have been many proponents of the DNA database all of whom believe that having one will lead to more crimes being solved. Well in what can be considered a victory for the civil liberties persons among us, evidence presented at the Commons’ home affairs committee, suggests that the database is not accomplishing its intended goals. Crisis in Cumbria.

The way that the people of Cumbria must have suffered over the past few days is not easy to imagine. They have experienced the wettest day ever since records began. I think the only people who can imagine how bad it really is are the ones who have been through the same thing themselves.

The State We Are In.

English law is I am afraid, a bit of a farce. The old saying; ‘The Law is an Ass’ has never been truer.

When our archaic laws were written they may have been more suitable. However, back then there were no such things as cyber crime, credit card fraud or online paedophile rings. The long and the short of it is that our laws are in desperate need of a complete overhaul.

Out of House Arrest.

What a brilliant idea. I have always thought that the laws surrounding domestic violence were back to front. When a woman has been assaulted by her husband or partner she should not have to leave her own home to feel safe. If anyone is to be punished then surely it should be the abuser and not the abused.
